Being on campus for my 21st birthday–pictures included

My birthday fell in the middle of the week (Oct. 24), so I didn’t think I would do much because I had school and work. However, it turned out to be way better than I thought. I spent most of time at Drury on my birthday, but I had some fun surprises waiting for me.
After I got out of classes for the day, I went to work on campus and my coworkers surprised me with cupcakes–Halloween cupcakes (I do enjoy having a birthday near Halloween)!
Also that day, I got an e-mail from the Dean of Students office that told me to come pick up a small gift in the FSC. I got there, and it turns out when a DU student turns 21, they get from Drury a deck of cards and a birthday card, signed by Dr. Charles Taylor, President Parnell, and Dr. Julian. I guess you’d have to see the cards and the inside of the card to see what was interesting about it. Basically, the cards remind students to be safe now that they are of drinking age. I thought it was a nice surprise–and a good idea. It gave me the sense that Drury really cares about its students.
Check out the pictures below to see how I spent my birthday!
