A Drury snow day

ICE: Because Missouri is too hardcore for snow.

Happy surprise day off, Drury/Missouri/great Midwest friends!

By now, Drury students should come to expect any weather-related days off school to be the result of ice, not snow – not that I’m complaining. Trust me, there was no sweeter feeling than waking up at 7, peeking drowsily out my window, and seeing my early-morning world white, glittery, and coated in ice. Needless to say, school and work had already been canceled – yeah, money needs to be made and things need to be learned, but I wasn’t about to say no to a few more hours of much-coveted snoozing.

According to Twitter and the few wandering souls I’ve seen today, most Drury students have relished in the get-out-of-jail-free day by staying snuggled in bed watching Netflix or skirting homework. Both are noble ideas that I’ll probably take advantage of later, but so far today I’ve trudged to the gym for a long run, made a healthy lunch, spent far too long making a faux hawk with my hair, and blogged (well, that’s in progress). With so many notches in my belt of productivity already, I think I should join the nearly-mandatory call for laziness on this chilly, icy afternoon.

Stay safe out there!
